This library of information and opinion is created from my experiences in the real-world of work and job-hunting. The Silicon-Valley, where I am based, is one of the most fluctuating job markets out there...and this is both good and questionable. There are jobs, there are careers, and there are things to do to get you by in the meantime. I try to stay on top of what is happening to keep you informed.

Hybrid Resumes
continued
To think that there is a lot of time and effort placed into making a resume beautiful to then upload it, only so that it looks like a tragic mess, just sad. When you choose me to create your resume for you, I am now creating two versions.
The first version is for your online submissions only. This one is ready to be optimally parsed, it includes keywords and contextualized keywords. The second resume is standard, this means that it is presentable with all of the key components formatted for hard-copy presentation. This approach is different because most resume creation companies only find it feasible when they can produce one resume at a very high rate. Mine, on the other hand, are created with practicality in mind and with your goal at the forefront plus they are affordable.
So, when you come across the use of a 'hybrid' resume, please keep in mind that it sounds great and trendy, however think about whether it is accomplishing its intended goal....to get you through the filtering systems.

Gaps In Time
continued
Finding a way to patch up the gaps in your resume is never an easy task. In this article, I will express the opinion that every experience you have had in between jobs is just as valuable. I will highlight ways to illustrate the importance of how these in-between times add value to your job hunting.
Connecting with past employers may make your stomach turn at the thought of having to do so, but it may need to be done.
I will share with you how to approach situations where you feel you are stuck deciding between having to reach out and perhaps avoiding it altogether.
